Metang

Metang (Pokédex #0375) is a Steel/Psychic-type POKEMON first introduced in Generation 3. It is officially classified as the Iron Claw Pokémon. When two BELDUM fuse together, METANG is formed. The brains of the BELDUM are joined by a magnetic nervous system. By linking its brains magnetically, this POKéMON generates strong psychokinetic power.

As a Steel/Psychic-type POKEMON, Metang has a specific set of type matchups that trainers must account for. It takes double damage from Fire, Ground, Ghost, Dark moves. Conversely, Metang is completely immune to Poison — these moves deal zero damage regardless of power. It resists Normal, Grass, Ice, Flying, Rock, Dragon, Steel, Fairy moves, taking only half damage from them.

Metang's battle stats: Base Stat Total of 420 (solid). Full distribution: HP 60 · ATK 75 · DEF 100 · SP.ATK 55 · SP.DEF 80 · SPD 50. Its standout stat is DEF (100), which makes it best suited for physical defense roles. Its abilities are Clear body, Light metal, with Light metal as its hidden ability.

Metang stands 1.2 m (47") tall and weighs 202.5 kg (446.4 lbs). It is typically found in Rough Terrain environments. Capture rate: 3/255 (extremely difficult to catch). Use Ultra Balls with a status condition (Sleep or Paralysis) for the best results. Growth rate: Slow. Egg groups: Mineral.

Metang is part of the Beldum → Metang → Metagross evolution line (3-stage). Metang is a middle-stage evolution.
