Mareep (Pokédex #0179) is a Electric-type POKEMON first introduced in Generation 2. It is officially classified as the Wool Pokémon. If static elec­ tricity builds in its body, its fleece doubles in volume. Touching it will shock you.

As a Electric-type POKEMON, Mareep has a specific set of type matchups that trainers must account for. It takes double damage from Ground moves. It resists Electric, Flying, Steel moves, taking only half damage from them.

Mareep is part of the Mareep → Flaaffy → Ampharos evolution line (3-stage). Mareep is the base form and can evolve into Flaaffy via Level 15.
