Magby

Magby (Pokédex #0240) is a Fire-type POKEMON first introduced in Generation 2. It is officially classified as the Live Coal Pokémon. Each and every time it inhales and exhales, hot embers dribble out of its mouth and nostrils.

As a Fire-type POKEMON, Magby has a specific set of type matchups that trainers must account for. It takes double damage from Water, Ground, Rock moves. It resists Fire, Grass, Ice, Bug, Steel, Fairy moves, taking only half damage from them.

Magby's battle stats: Base Stat Total of 365 (moderate). Full distribution: HP 45 · ATK 75 · DEF 37 · SP.ATK 70 · SP.DEF 55 · SPD 83. Its standout stat is SPD (83), which makes it best suited for outspeeding opponents roles. Its abilities are Flame body, Vital spirit, with Vital spirit as its hidden ability.

Magby stands 0.7 m (28") tall and weighs 21.4 kg (47.2 lbs). It is typically found in Mountain environments. Capture rate: 45/255 (difficult to catch). Use Ultra Balls with a status condition (Sleep or Paralysis) for the best results. Growth rate: Medium. Egg groups: No Eggs.

Magby is part of the Magby → Magmar → Magmortar evolution line (3-stage). Magby is the base form and can evolve into Magmar via Level 30.
