Swellow

Swellow (Pokédex #0277) is a Normal/Flying-type POKEMON first introduced in Generation 3. It is officially classified as the Swallow Pokémon. SWELLOW flies high above our heads, making graceful arcs in the sky. This POKéMON dives at a steep angle as soon as it spots its prey. The hapless prey is tightly grasped by SWELLOW’s clawed feet, preventing escape.

As a Normal/Flying-type POKEMON, Swellow has a specific set of type matchups that trainers must account for. It takes double damage from Electric, Ice, Rock moves. Conversely, Swellow is completely immune to Ground and Ghost — these moves deal zero damage regardless of power. It resists Grass, Bug moves, taking only half damage from them.

Swellow's battle stats: Base Stat Total of 455 (solid). Full distribution: HP 60 · ATK 85 · DEF 60 · SP.ATK 75 · SP.DEF 50 · SPD 125. Its standout stat is SPD (125), which makes it best suited for outspeeding opponents roles. Its abilities are Guts, Scrappy, with Scrappy as its hidden ability.

Swellow stands 0.7 m (28") tall and weighs 19.8 kg (43.7 lbs). It is typically found in Grassland environments. Capture rate: 45/255 (difficult to catch). Use Ultra Balls with a status condition (Sleep or Paralysis) for the best results. Growth rate: Medium Slow. Egg groups: Flying.

Swellow is part of the Taillow → Swellow evolution line (2-stage). Swellow is the final evolved form — the strongest stage of this line.
