Mudkip

Mudkip (Pokédex #0258) is a Water-type POKEMON first introduced in Generation 3. It is officially classified as the Mud Fish Pokémon. The fin on MUDKIP’s head acts as highly sensitive radar. Using this fin to sense movements of water and air, this POKéMON can determine what is taking place around it without using its eyes.

As a Water-type POKEMON, Mudkip has a specific set of type matchups that trainers must account for. It takes double damage from Electric, Grass moves. It resists Fire, Water, Ice, Steel moves, taking only half damage from them.

Mudkip's battle stats: Base Stat Total of 310 (moderate). Full distribution: HP 50 · ATK 70 · DEF 50 · SP.ATK 50 · SP.DEF 50 · SPD 40. Its standout stat is ATK (70), which makes it best suited for physical offense roles. Its abilities are Torrent, Damp, with Damp as its hidden ability.

Mudkip stands 0.4 m (16") tall and weighs 7.6 kg (16.8 lbs). It is typically found in Waters Edge environments. Capture rate: 45/255 (difficult to catch). Use Ultra Balls with a status condition (Sleep or Paralysis) for the best results. Growth rate: Medium Slow. Egg groups: Monster, Water1.

Mudkip is part of the Mudkip → Marshtomp → Swampert evolution line (3-stage). Mudkip is the base form and can evolve into Marshtomp via Level 16.
